Valentine's ‘Ghost’ Pottery Throwing Experience 2026
Looking for a Valentine’s date with a twist?
Join us on Friday 13th, Saturday 14th, or Sunday 15th February 2026 (selected times available) for our ‘Ghost’ Pottery Throwing Experience - a fun, hands-on way to celebrate Valentine’s with your loved one.
Get ready for 45 minutes of laughs and creativity as you share a single potter’s wheel to create your very own pot together. It’s guaranteed to be a memorable and giggle-filled experience!
Once your masterpiece is complete, our skilled Potters will kiln-fire it and finish it in a beautiful Denby glaze. Collect it later as a lovely keepsake and a lasting memory of your unique Valentine’s experience
PRICE: £120 per couple (ticket price is for 2 x people).
For £60pp you get a 45-minute tutored experience where you will hand-throw a pot together on the Potters’ wheel, which will then be glazed, and kiln fired ready for you to collect later as a memento of your evening.
Any additional pots you create, can also be fired for an extra £15 each (paid for on the day).
Why not make the most of your experience and join us for a Sparkling Valentine’s Afternoon Tea for Two?
This can be added to your booking at the checkout stage. Please select the Afternoon Tea time that best fits around your ‘Ghost’ Pottery Throwing Experience, as outlined below:
• If you are booked for the ‘Ghost’ Throwing Experience at 1pm or 3.30pm, please select Valentine’s Afternoon Tea for Two at 2pm.
• If you are booked for the ‘Ghost’ Throwing Experience at 2.15pm, please select Valentine’s Afternoon Tea for Two at 12pm.
A perfect way to relax, celebrate, and enjoy some extra time together.
NOTES: Please note that your 45-minute Pottery Throwing Experience will take place on one of our three Potters’ wheels, so your experience may be with other participants or, why not book with other couple friends.
Aprons will be provided, but pottery can get a little messy, which is all part of the creative fun so wear something comfortable and enjoy the experience!
On occasion, some pots may crack or break in the kiln firing process, and this is beyond our control. In the unfortunate event that this should happen, we will contact you to discuss it.
BOOKINGS: Require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice
Unfortunately, refunds cannot be given for cancellations. Denby Pottery Village will make every effort to ensure that your Valentine’s ‘Ghost’ Experience goes ahead on the confirmed date and time. ARRIVAL: Upon arrival, please park in our free customer car park and head straight to the Denby Craft Studio, where you will be welcomed by our friendly team, or why not make the most of your evening by taking the bus or a taxi so you can enjoy a bottle of wine together.
SAFETY: Please ensure that the following safety guidelines are adhered to for your safety during the Pottery Throwing Experience:
- Any sleeves longer than the elbow must be rolled back leaving the forearms bare.
- All jewellery is to be removed from the hands and wrists (except for a wedding band). If a wedding band is kept on, then disposable Nitrile gloves will be available to wear.
- Any jewellery, neckties or scarves worn around the neck must be removed.
- Hair may have to be tied back if there is a risk of entanglement.
- Short nails are preferred as longer nails make the throwing process more difficult.
- Suitable footwear to be worn.
Pregnant women may find operating the Potters’ wheel uncomfortable and restrictive but may take part at their own risk. We advise that anyone who is pregnant, should consult with their physician before booking onto a Pottery Throwing Experience. Please ensure that the instructing Potter is made aware on the day of your visit so that any adaptions can be made.
Please note: There are electric motors within the pottery wheel and customers with pacemakers should always consult with their physicians first when using motor-run or electronic products.
CONTACTS: If you have any questions that you would like to discuss, please call or email our Tours Desk on tours.reception@denby.co.uk or 01773 740799, option 1 between 10am-4pm and our team will be able to help. Closed Mondays.
