How can I contact you?

Do I need to pre-book experience tickets before visiting?

Tickets may be purchased online in advance to avoid disappointment or please call the Studio on 01773 740799 option 1. This line maybe closed on Mondays - term time. We will do our very best to accommodate on the day bookings subject to availability and most days the studio is open for on the day bookings between 10am - 12. Afternoon Tea Bookings require 48 hrs advanced booking. Pottery Throwing requires 48 hrs advanced bookings.

How will I receive my tickets?

Your e-ticket will be emailed to you along with a unique booking reference number.  Please make a note of the booking reference number or present the ticket on your phone or via print out to our Welcome Desk team on the day of your visit.

I purchased my tickets online but can no longer come. Can my tickets be transferred to another date or refunded?

Unfortunately tickets are non-transferable or non-refundable. Any exchange or refund of tickets is under exceptional circumstances and at the absolute discretion of management.

If we are forced to close due to COVID-19 restrictions, tickets purchased for these dates will be transferable to the next convenient date or a refund offered. We are not obliged to refund ticket sales under any circumstances.

What should I do if I am running late for my Denby Experience?

Please notify our Welcome Desk team on email tours.reception@Denby.co.uk or call 01773 740799 option 1 open 10-4. Closed Mondays term time. Tickets are only valid for the time and date printed on the ticket. If you arrive later than your booked time, we will do our best to accommodate you but this may not be possible and you may be turned away. Tour bookings will leave on the advertised time, please arrive 10 minutes earlier for your health and safety brief.

I have purchased tickets online but have not received a confirmation email. What should I do?

Please check that your tickets have not gone into your junk mail. If you require any further assistance, please email our Welcome Desk team on tours.reception@Denby.co.uk or call 01773 740799 option 1. This line is closed Mondays term time.

Where are you located?

Our postcode is DE5 8NX

We are situated 8 miles north of Derby and 2 miles south of Ripley in the Amber Valley region of Derbyshire. The Centre is 13 miles from Matlock and less than 20 miles from Chatsworth House.

By road:. Junction 28 of the M1 is approximately 10 miles to the north (take the A38), and Junction 26 of the M1 is approximately 10 miles to the south (take the A610 to Ripley). We are situated in a rural location on the B6179.

 

What are your opening times?

The Denby Pottery Village shops and eateries are open every day (except for Christmas Day and Easter Sunday). Opening dates and times are subject to change, please check our website or Facebook page @VisitDenby when planning your visit.

Open Daily:

Mon-Sat 9am-5pm

Sun 10am-4pm

Craft studio 10am-4pm every day during school holidays.

Term time - Craft studio 10am- 12 noon, with various workshops pm. Closed Mondays term time.

Is there free onsite parking available?

There is plenty of free car parking, including coach parking and accessible parking bays at the Denby Pottery Village, located only a short walking distance from the Pottery Village shops, eateries and Welcome Desk.

How can I make the most of my visit to the Pottery Village?

Whether you have a few hours or want to enjoy a full day out, there is a wealth of activities for all ages to enjoy alongside our shops and food outlets.

Make the most of your visit by choosing from our new Denby Experience Packages where you can learn about how Denby is made, get immersed in our fascinating history, see how we hand-craft our versatile, beautiful and durable ceramics and even get creative yourself. Build your own package of experiences for savings, upgrades and extras to help make your visit extra special.

Are toilets and baby changing facilities available?

Toilets, accessible toilets and baby changing facilities are located within the courtyard area, directly next to the Denby Craft Studio.

Is there access for wheelchair and pushchair users?

We are committed to providing equal access to all of our customers.

The Denby Pottery Village is accessible to all visitors and there are accessible toilet facilities, wheelchair ramps and lift access within the Factory Shop to make your visit as enjoyable as possible. If you have any accessibility concerns that you would like to discuss in advance of your visit, please email tours.reception@denby.co.uk in advance of your visit.

Can I hire a wheelchair?

A wheelchair is available for use at the Pottery Village, please ask at the desk inside the factory shop or  inside the Denby Craft Studio and our team will be able to help.

Are dogs allowed onsite?

Dogs are welcome in the retail shops / experience space and courtyard/outdoor area of the Pottery Village, however, only assistance dogs are allowed within eateries and farmshop.

How can I reach you by public transport?

By bus: There is a bus stop right outside the Pottery www.trentbuses.co.uk

By rail: The nearest main train station is Derby, www.eastmidlandstrains.co.uk

By air: The nearest airport is East Midlands Airport, www.nottinghamema.com

Can I make a group booking for a coach party?

We welcome coaches at any time, for shopping or just a coffee break. However, pre-booking an Experience for a group visit is essential. Please email tours.reception@Denby.co.uk and the team will be able to help advise on discounted rates for our Experiences and Afternoon Teas. Group booking for 6 and over interested in Experiences will receive a 10% Discount.

Are all of the experiences guided?

All our experiences are with trained tour guides or with a Denby colleague to enhance your experience. These experience are pre bookable only on most Tuesday and Thursday. 

Am I able to take photographs during the Denby Experiences?

You are welcome to take photographs for personal use, except during the Pottery Tour . Please note that on occasion we may take photographs to use for marketing purposes, this will be subject to permission being granted and an image release form to be signed.

I would like to upgrade my experience with an Afternoon Tea on my visit, how can I add this to my booking?

Afternoon Tea is available to book between 12pm and 2pm or 2pm and 4pm in Bourne’s Coffee Shop & Bistro and can be added to your ticket(s) at the booking stage. Please ensure that you carefully select the same date as your experience and a time that does not conflict with your experience.

Do I need to pre-book a table at Bourne’s Coffee Shop & Bistro or The Tea House?

All of our tables are available on a first come first serve basis and there is no need to pre-book. If you have a larger party or a birthday and would like to reserve a table with us, please email our team on tours.reception@Denby.co.uk.
