NEW 2-hour Pottery Throwing Experience with our Master Potter

Join us for a new 2-hour Pottery Throwing Experience with our Master Potter, Sean, who boasts many years of experience in the pottery industry. Under his expert guidance and using our Derbyshire clay, you'll explore various techniques on the Potters’ wheel to throw tall items such as small vases, planters or mugs.

WHAT TO EXPECT: This is the ideal next step for those with basic pottery throwing skills or for those who have previously completed a Pottery Throwing Experience with us. You'll begin by making tall cylinder shapes and then with Sean's assistance you can have a go at making more ambitious shapes.

Feel free to bring someone along to take photos and offer encouragement as you craft your masterpiece. Alternatively, consider booking an experience for two people, where you can use our two potter's wheels at the same time. Please note that each class can accommodate a maximum of two participating throwers. If you book a space for one person, the second space may be filled by another participant.

Once your hand-thrown pot is complete, our master potter will kiln fire and finish your pot in your chosen Denby glaze colour (either Pebble Blue or Kiln White). Your finished piece will be ready for collection within 6-8 weeks.

Complete your 2-hour Pottery Throwing Experience with a free cuppa at Bourne’s Coffee Shop & Bistro.

PRICE: £80 per person for 2 hours experience, with a minimum of 90 minutes on the wheel.

Included in the ticket price is the kiln firing and finishing of 1 x hand-thrown item. However, if you wish to keep an additional pot(s) created during the session, you have the option to purchase them for an additional £10 each on the day.

There’s also the option to have your item(s) posted out to you for an additional £5 each, which can be organised with the team during your visit.

WHO’S IT FOR: This is the ideal next step for those with basic pottery throwing skills or for those who have previously completed a Pottery Throwing Experience with us. Please note that if you are booking for one person, there may be another participant present during your experience.

Pregnant women may find operating the Potters’ wheel uncomfortable and restrictive but may take part at their own risk. We advise that anyone who is pregnant, should consult with their physician before booking onto a Pottery Throwing Experience.
