Halloween Kids Crafts 2024!
Spooky Halloween fun at Denby Pottery Village starts Saturday 19th October - Sunday 3rd November 2024
50-minute craft sessions are available at selected times.
Join us at the Denby Craft Studio during the October Half-Term Holidays for lots of spooky fun. Secure your space today and choose from one of the following activities at the booking stage, subject to availability:
1. Paint a Spooky Plate: Using our colourful glazes, paint a pre-stencilled Denby tea plate in a Halloween-themed design with a spooky selection to choose from. We’ll kiln fire their finished tea plate for you to collect at a later date and treasure forever. £12
OR
2. Make a clay pumpkin: Let their imagination run wild as they make a Halloween pumpkin from our Derbyshire clay. There’s a how-to guide to follow along if needed, and their creation can be taken away on the day to paint at home when dry. £7
OR
3. Design a Trick-or-Treat Canvas Bag: Get ready for Halloween and decorate a spooky 'trick-or-treat' canvas bag in their own design using our wide selection of colourful fabric pens to ‘make and take home'. £7
OR
4. Create your own Jack O’Lantern: Design their own Jack O’Lantern using a lidded glass jar, a selection of spooky paint colours and various craft accessories. Pop in a tealight (provided) and watch it glow. £7
OR
5. There’s also the option to paint a plate for Santa. Get set for the big day and paint a Christmas themed design onto a medium Denby plate, ready for the arrival of Santa and his reindeers. We’ll kiln fire their finished medium plate for you to collect at a later date. £15.95
On the day of your visit, see if they can guess how many “marshmallow ghosts are in our bottle” (£1 a go) for a chance to win a Denby Pottery Painting Experience for 2 people - see a member of the Craft Studio team to have a guess.
SPOOKY HALLOWEEN TRAIL: Take part in our Halloween Trail around Denby Pottery Village (when you book a Halloween Craft Activity). The Wicked Witch of Denby has hidden pictures of their ghostly friends around Denby Pottery Village, see if you can find them all and collect a trick-or-teat at the end. Tickets for the Halloween Trail are £3 per child and must be purchased in conjunction with a Kids Halloween Craft Activity (subject to availability).
Whilst you’re here, take a photo with friends and family at the spooky photo point. Tag us on Facebook at @VisitDenby or on Instagram @denbypotteryvillage for a chance to be featured on our socials.

Notes: Aimed at children 3 years +, all activities are self-led, but our friendly team will be on hand to offer any support. You are also welcome to paint-a-pot or enjoy another craft activity during your 50-minute experience if time allows. Additional costs apply and can be paid for on the day.
- We will be getting creative with paint, pens and clay and therefore recommend that children wear items they don't mind getting messy.
- Children must always be supervised by an adult(s) and a minimum of 1 adult per 3 children is required. Please also refrain from eating inside the Denby Craft Studio, thank you.
- Denby Pottery Painting: The following Denby glaze colours, violet PT& and bluebell blue PT18 contain a degree of cobalt which is an allergen.
- Denby Craft Activities: some activities may include use of feathers or balloons please make us aware of any allergies before your visit.

Visitor parking is available for free in our customer car park within easy reach of the Welcome Desk located inside the Denby Craft Studio.

However, should unforeseen conditions prevail, an alternative date or time will be offered where possible, or a full refund will be given. Our great selection of shops are open every day (except for Christmas Day and Easter Sunday) between 9am-5pm (Monday-Saturday) and 10am -4pm on Sundays for you to browse during your visit. The Denby Craft Studio is open daily between 10am-4pm.
There is also a choice of two eateries (Bourne's Coffee Shop & Bistro and The Farm Shop Café) serving a wide variety of homecooked dishes, breakfasts, homemade cakes, drinks and more.
